Trucking Tax Break Takes Effect July 1st

Sunday, a controversial tax cut for the trucking industry takes effect.

It was supposed to offset a diesel tax increase that never came to pass.

An effort to repeal the break failed last session, and was blocked by Senate Republicans.

A governor's spokesperson says because it will take away the state's revenue it will hurt funding for roads, including at the city and county level.
