Two swimmers from the University of Arkansas competed Thursday at the US Olympic Team Trials.

Nikki Daniels raced in the 100 breaststroke, and Chelsea Franklin swam in the 400 freestyle.  Both swimmers improved their seeds.

Daniels, an incoming sophomore, finished tied for 77th with a time of 1:12:03, 2.7 seconds off qualifying for event finals.  Coach Todd Mann called it "a strong swim."

Franklin finished 79th in the freestyle with a time of 4:21:44.  Coach Mann said she raced while battling a sinus infection and hopes she will be back on track for the 800 freestyle this weekend.

The US Olympic Team Trials are underway at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.

Arkansas swimmers will resume competition on Friday.
