Update: Cantrell Road Reopen Following Grass Fire

Update:
After being closed for roughly two hours, Cantrell Road has been reopened to traffic.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Original Story:

A grass fire this afternoon started inside a house that was being remodeled and shutdown Cantrell Road in West Little Rock in the 17000 block area.

It happened near The Ranch neighborhood.

Firefighters closed a small stretch of Cantrell Road so they could get in and battle the flames.

The fire, which started around 2:30, burned one side of the building and cause an estimated $30,000 in damage.

Two firefighters were slightly hurt. One of them fell through a step and another sprained an ankle.

Fire crews were still on the scene as of 4:30.
