From management via email today:
Yesterday's kitchen fire at YaYa's was completely contained within the cooking vent system and created no real smoke or water damage to the other portions of the restaurant.
Specific damages were limited to that particular equipment and the area of the roof that houses the ventilation system.
Contrary to one published report, the automatic sprinkler for the vent system DID function properly, which clearly saved the fire from spreading and causing extensive damage to the restaurant.
Management has met with construction personnel today and have already begun the process of repairs. Staff has been instructed to makes plans to re-open YaYa's on Monday, July 2--just in time for the holiday week.
Customers may get updates on repairs progress by following YaYa's Euro Bistro on Facebook.
