High school students handled rifles and handguns at the Benton Police Department Tuesday Morning.

It's part of the Junior Citizens' Academy. For two weeks the teens get to see crime scenes, learn about investigations and even go out on patrol with police.

For some of them it's something fun to do over the summer. For others it a way to know what career they want to choose.

"It just gives me a wider experience in different fields. I like to learn different things,"says Kait Hill. And Hinnah Baker said "I want to be a police officer, when I'm older. It's a fun experience."

This is the Junior Academy's third year.
