Parkview Teacher Recipient of Prestigous Presidential Award

Dr. Vickie Logan was recently named among 97 math and science teachers by President Obama as a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching. They have all been invited to the White House for a special ceremony to receive their award and other educational events.
Logan has been an educator for 24 years and has spent the last 9 years in the Little Rock School District teaching Advanced Placement Biology at Parkview Arts/Science Magnet High School. She has been honored by three Arkansas governors for her educational service: Frank White, Bill Clinton, and Mike Huckabee.
She has also received the Siemens award, the Stephens award, the Wal-Mart award, the Parent Teacher Association award and Arkansas Gifted and Talented Educator.
The Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching is awarded annually to outstanding K-12 math and science teachers. Winners also receive a $10,000 award from the National Science Foundation.
