$850 million Unpaid Taxes in Arkansas

Arkansas tax authorities said some people and businesses owe $850 million in unpaid taxes but chances are the state will only be able to get $370 million.
Good economy or bad, it's this way every year, said Tim Leathers, Deputy Director of the Arkansas Finance and Administration Department.
"It's like what lawyers say--you can't get blood out of a turnip," Leathers said referring to bankrupted businesses and people who cannot pay.
The state last year filed 30,000 liens in an effort to collect, he said.
