Ever heard of a sustainable swimsuit? There's a company making bikinis and board shorts out of recycled materials and that green company is giving back to their customers by cleaning up the Arkansas River.
Representatives from Eco Swim by Aqua Green and the retailer who sells their suits, Dillards, teamed up with community volunteers Saturday to pick up trash at Murray Park in Little Rock.
Some local girl scouts even lent a helping hand.
Volunteers were given gloves, trash bags, and sunscreen to gathered the garbage.
Ironically, some of the trash inside the bags could end up on someone's body!
Worker for Eco Swim, Caroline Shaw said, "We take some of the plastic that we find here and send it to a company that can re-use the plastic."
They can take the recycled plastic and make it into swimsuits that you could then buy at Dillards. This waterways clean-up project is going on all over the country.
