Faulkner County fire officials battled a brush fire Saturday that burned 39 acres and destroyed four barns.

The fire burned land just east of Greenbrier off of AR 225.

Firefighters tell KARK one home was temporarily threatened and residents were evacuated for a time.

Crews are still working to put out small spot fires. A cause of the fire is not known at this time.

This is the second fire in just a few days in Faulkner County. A fire in the town of Holland destroyed two homes. The cause of that fire is also unknown.
