A Walmart spokesperson has confirmed that the company is planning on building a store in Beebe, which will add hundreds of jobs to the area.

Daniel Morales of Walmart said the company is planning on building a Walmart Supercenter in Beebe that will bring with it 300 associates positions.

Morales said the store is expected to open in 2013 in late spring or early summer. He said people can start applying for associates' positions in the the spring.

"We are going through our due diligence right now, but we are planning on building in Beebe," Morales said.

The store will be located at the 2003 W. Center Street and South Commercial Drive, though the company has still to secure a building permit, according to Mayor Mike Robertson.

The Supercenter will have a full line of groceries, a deli area, dairy section, bakery, fresh produce and a pharmacy.
