Higginson to Repair Water Plant

After more than 20 years, the city of Higginson (White County) will finally be able to make repairs on its water treatment plant.
The city received a grant of $748,000 from Arkansas Rural Development and a loan of $340,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture to use toward making repairs at the facility.
Mayor Randall Homsley said the plant has had issues since the time it was built, and that the city even tried to sue the original contractor at the time of the completion.
