Jefferson County election officials say they're going to turn over to prosecutors a voter discrepancy case that led them to delay certifying votes.

At issue: 68 voters who voted in the GOP primary election May 22 also voted in the June 12 Democratic runoff election.

Election officials believe a poll worker made a mistake, but it's still illegal.

"Regardless, there are one or two different scenarios that could have happened but both of them come back to a poll worker making a mistake, so we'll have to fix that," said Trey Ashcraft,
Chairman of the Jefferson County Election Commission.

Dorothy Hall, who lost her bid in District 10 for the Arkansas House, wants answers.

"We have a little more time to review the data we still have questions on," Hall said.

Hall, who lost by a 180 vote margin, spent the better part of the day examining the voter rosters, comparing the county's records with the election commission numbers.

Hall's assistant found 500 voter names on the list that did not have a party designation.
The election commission is slated to meet again at 3 p.m. on Friday.
