It happened Monday afternoon just before 4:30 along David O. Dodd Road.
Police say motorcycle driver Edward Martina, 37, of Little Rock, died a short time after being taken to the hospital with head injuries and injuries to his left side that included a broken leg. He did not appear to have been wearing a helmet, the police report said.
Martina's 2001 Yamaha collided with the passenger side of a pickup truck driven by Candance Schulze, 27, of Little Rock, police said.
Schulze was not injured.
According to the police report, a contributing factor to the accident was careless prohibited driving by Martina, who appeared to be trying to pass Schulze on the right side as she made a right turn off Dodd Road onto Shady Brook Drive near the Woodridge Drive four-way intersection.
Schulze told police she saw Martina behind her when she first got on Dodd Road but saw him pullover into a gas station.
Police are looking into a line of sight issue with a stop sign on Dodd Road as it approaches Shady Brook from Stagecoach and goes over a slight hill crest, the police report said.
