Coach John L. Smith's statement regarding Jason Peacock

On Monday, suspended Hog football player Jason Peacock pleaded guilty to misdemeanor theft of property in Washington County Circuit Court.

According to the Washington County Prosecutor's Office, Peacock was sentenced to 10 days in jail and 12 months supervised probation. He has already served one day of the sentence.

Police the offensive lineman Jason Peacock on March 16th felony theft of property charges after U of A police say he admitted to taking a wallet from a car on campus. He was suspended by then-coach Bobby Petrino shortly after the arrest.

Arkansas Football Head Coach John L. Smith has released a statement on Jason Peacock:

"I met with Jason Peacock when I arrived on the job and expressed my expectation for him to fulfill his obligations in order to resolve his situation.

We have high standards for our student-athletes and now that the legal process has taken its course, we will review Jason's status with the program."
