Alligator Caught in Dermott, Moved to Safer Area

Updated: June 18, 2012
Wildlife biologists with the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission (AGFC) have rounded up a wayward alligator in Dermott.

Mark Barbee and Michael Shepherd, work with the AGFC's Monticello office.

They were called out on Wednesday afternoon to roundup one of the reptiles on Alma Street, on the west side of Dermott, near the Chicot - Drew County line.

The wildlife agents restrained the alligator by sitting on the reptile and tying its snout and legs.

The alligator was then loaded up into a vehicle and taken to a safer area.

This is the third alligator capture in the area within the last year.
