Sunday (6/17), a family celebrated a newborn with a very unique story to share for the rest of his life.
He's the third of a very unique trio of siblings.
3 children born 3 years in a row, on the exact same day.
When Paisley Crutchfield gave birth to 6 pound 11 ounce James Calvin Cotton IV Sunday morning just after 9:00, no one could believe the coincidence.
"No way... there's no way. That's pretty much what I hear," Crutchfield said.
It is hard to believe, 3 children born on the same date year after year.
For her second of the three, doctors expected June 19, so Crutchfield didn't think anything of it.
But when June 17, 2011 rolled around sure enough, another baby.
And sure enough, one year later, exactly, she had James.
"I was surprised when I had two on the same birthday but to have 3 is totally crazy."
Even those in the maternity wing at UAMS couldn't believe it.
"I had never heard of this before in my nursing career," said UAMS Women's Health Nurse, Amber Smith.
Not to mention, none of them were induced and they all came four weeks early.
"I don't think you could have planned it even if you wanted to," Smith said. "I think that's what makes this special."
The sisters in this special trio, of course, had their own birthday to celebrate Sunday.
A proud grandfather sat along side them with his own reasons to celebrate, especially on Father's Day.
"This is a great gift from my daughter... a grandson," Phillip Crutchfield explained. "This is our first grandson."
With or without the connection these sibling will share forever, they're still special in the family's eyes.
"Glad they're here... they are all special to us," Phillip Crutchfield added.
That being said, the new mother said on June 17, 2013, there will not be another baby. A medical procedure will help make sure she's done with this endeavor.
"And now I can raise them and finish the goals that I do have"
Paisley Crutchfield will have her hands full.
Paisley wants to finish two years left on an undergraduate degree, then plans to attend law school.
"We're gonna have fun... we're gonna have fun."
