Periodic Lane Closes Planned Along I-30 in Hot Spring County

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: June 10, 2012
Drivers who use Interstate 30 near Malvern may need to plan a little more time for their commutes this week.

Crews doing road work will periodically close lanes along 30 just west of Malvern, according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department. The work involves reconstructing six miles of Interstate 30 between Rockport and Social Hill.

Crews will start by closing the eastbound and westbound outside lanes near milemarker 97. Once the initial part of the project is complete, lane closures will be shifted to the inside lanes.

After the July 4th holiday, permanent lane closures will be in place until the end of the year. During that period, traffic will be limited to one lane in each direction.
