A White County man has survived the crash of a crop duster.

It happened Thursday afternoon around 1:45 in Higginson.

The White County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) says pilot J. P. Freppon, 32, of Bald Knob, was able to dump the plane's load of fertilizer before trying to make an emergency landing in a field.

The WCSO says Freppon walked away from the crash with no injuries, but his plane caught fire.

The Higginson Fire Department put out the blaze, which also spread to grass along a roadside.
