A De Queen parent is accusing local school officials of taking corporal punishment too far with her teenage girl.
Vickie Bailey says a school official in the Sevier County town paddled her eighth grade daughter back in April, causing bruising.
Although she signed a corporal punishment waiver, the mother says her child was abused.
"I feel like I need justice done about it, and I don't like it," says Bailey.
School district officials say they can't directly address the allegations, citing student privacy law, but a spokesperson says no student has been unfairly subjected to corporal punishment.
