Update: Not Guilty Pleas for Two Former Little Rock Police Officers Accused of Drug Dealing

Update (June 19):

Two former officers with the Little Rock Police Department have pleaded not guilty to drug charges.

Mark Anthony Jones, 45, and Randall Tremayn Robinson, 38, have been out on bond since earlier this month and remain free.

Their pleas in Federal Court took place this morning.

A trial date is set for July 23rd.

Update (June 4):
The two officers have been freed pending trial, but the federal judge in the case have placed strict sanctions on the defendants.

Officer Mark Jones' employment with the LRPD was terminated as of Friday (June 1).

Officer Randall Robinson resigned on May 30th.

Both men are due in Federal Court this afternoon for a detention hearing.

Little Rock Police confirm Randall Robinson has resigned from the department.

LRPD has started the termination process for Officer Mark Jones.

Original Story (May 31):
Late Thursday, the Department of Justice announces the arrests of two Little Rock Police Officers after an investigation found the two were planning to help receive and distribute drugs.

The report released to KARK late Thursday, reveals Mark Anthony Jones, 45, and Randall Tremayn Robinson, 38, ho are half brothers, were arrested after conspiring to aid and distribute over one thousand pounds of marijuana.  The report also shows they are also charged for possessing a firearm while committing a drug trafficking crime.

According to an affidavit, one of the officers completed several drug deals while in uniform, carrying his gun and driving a city issued vehicle.

Both officers are expected in Federal Court on Friday.
