Debate Between District 1 Congressional Candidates Set for Wednesday

Prosecutor Scott Ellington faces off against state Rep. Clark Hall during Wednesday's broadcast of Arkansas Today. The debate portion of the show will begin around 12:05 p.m. and continue through the end of the broadcast at 12:30 p.m.
District 1 begins in Central Arkansas and stretches around Jonesboro in the northeast part of the Natural State.
During the primary, Ellington received the majority of support but didn't get earn enough votes to avoid a runoff. The runoff is set for June 12. The winner will go on to challenge incumbent Republican Rick Crawford.
The format for the debate will include questions from the moderator, questions sent in by viewers via social media, and the opportunity for each candidate to pose a question to his opponent. In addition to airing on television, the debate will be streamed live on arkansasmatters.com.
KARK has also invited the candidates from the District 4 to participate in a debate. The details on that event are still being worked out.
