Motorcycle Crash in Carroll Co. Kills One, Injures Another

One man is dead after he rear-ended a fellow rider on a motorcycle.

State police say the crash happened Saturday afternoon on Highway 62 near Green Forrest in Carroll County.

Fifty three-year-old Stephen Ellis was riding his Harley Davidson and hit another Harley on the road in front of him.

He fell into the path of a Chevy pick-up and died from his injuries.

Ellis was wearing a helmet. The other rider was also injured.

@ Jeff B While I do agree that the make of the motorcycle doesn't matter, I think that the reason it is in the article has more to do with the journalist that wrote it than the actual incident. Some journalists put more detail into their articles than others; ie, saying 'Harley Davidson' rather than 'motorcycle'. I don't think the journalist here was trying to imply that the fact that they were both riding Harleys had anything to do with the crash.

While my deepest sympathy goes to the family and friends of Mr. Ellis, why must it be stressed that these men were on Harley-Davidson motorcycles? When someone has an accident on a Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki or any number of other brands it is not mentioned. The name badge on the motorcycle had nothing to do with the accident.
