Five Juveniles Arrested for Underage Drinking in Baxter County

Five juveniles have been taken into custody in North Arkansas on alcohol possession charges.

It happened early this morning after the Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) received a complaint from one of their parents.

The man told the BCSO that his daughter and her friends had snuck out of the house and gone to a party at another home.

Shortly before five o'clock this morning, a sheriff's deputy went to a house on Confederate Circle in the rural Mountain Home area to speak with the parent who made the report. She made contact with the man's daughter and three of her friends. Each of them are under the age of 18.

The BCSO says a preliminary breath test showed all of them had been drinking alcohol and they were taken to the Sheriff's Office. They were turned over to Baxter County Juvenile Services after being issued citations to appear in Juvenile Court for Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

A sheriff's deputy also went to a home on State Highway 5 South where the party had taken place. That's where another juvenile who the BCSO said had also been consuming alcohol was taken into custody. He was also issued a citation for Minor in Possession and released to Juvenile Services.
