Local boxer Jermain Taylor threw out the first pitch at Sunday's Travelers game on behalf of a man suffering from ALS or Lou Gehrig's disease.

Robert Cobbs from Pine Bluff presented the ball to Taylor for the special pitch.

All in an effort to raise awareness of the disease and "Knock Out ALS"

May is also the awareness month for ALS and everyone involved said they just want to get the word out.

"He's a great guy," said Taylor, "I'm happy to do it for him."

"I told him I could take him in three rounds," said Cobbs, "I lose wind after that."

Officials with the Muscular Dystrophy Association said Cobbs uses that sense of humor to deal with the disease.
