Kristyn Wilson's office is right next door to her favorite coffeehouse and she ends up there a bunch of times each week with the store's mobile app on her phone allowing her to make purchases and providing her with rewards.

'Futurist' Nita Rollins of Resource Interactive says those belonging to Generation Y are using mobile coupons the most, but they're catching on among other age groups as well.

Every time you go to the store, there are mobile opportunities to save money if you take advantage of them. Coupon Sherpa uses GPS to figure out where you are and shows you discounts and coupons for stores nearby.

Grocery IQ is a shopping list but it works with Coupons.com to suggest savings. You can even use the app's barcode scanner to add things to your list.

Some of the coupons require you to e-mail them to yourself and print which involves downloading a "coupon printer" application. Yowza finds local deals and then displays a UPC code on the screen so the cashier can scan your discount on the spot. And Amazon Mobile doesn't actually kick out coupons, but you can use the app to scan a barcode and find out if another store in the area has the same item cheaper or if it's available online.
