Lottery chairperson Dianna Lamberth says Michael Hyde unexpectedly turned in his resignation Friday. Lamberth tells KARK Hyde's resignation technically goes into effect on June 22nd, but that she says he will used vacation days up until then. Lamberth believes Hyde won't return to the office.
Hyde was known for questioning the legality of a contract between the Arkansas Lottery and ticket vendor Scientific Games. Hyde claimed an amendment to the contract didn't go through the proper channels.
Lamberth tells KARK "I and the rest of the commission want to thank him for his service".
