Original story:
A manhunt is underway near Maumelle after shots were fired at a deputy with the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office (PCSO).
It happened this afternoon near Highway 365 and Wade Boulevard.
K9 units and a helicopter are involved in the search that also includes the area around Ingram Road, which is west of Interstate 40 and runs nearly alongside it.
The PCSO says it received a disturbance call about a man in the area with a gun and deputies were sent to the scene.
When they found a possible suspect, the PCSO says the man shot at deputies, who then returned fire.
It's not yet known if the man was hit before he ran into a wooded area.
The suspect has been identified as Kenneth Alexander, who is 40 years old with brown hair and blue eyes. The PCSO says he may have a mental disorder.
