A woman who worked as a jailer in Jefferson County appears in court Monday, accused of giving inmates contraband food and medicine.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says Kimberly Matthews, 26, was fired after an investigation and surveillance video revealed she was giving these items from family members to inmates.

Matthews faces a felony charge of furnishing prohibited articles.
