Cancer Deaths In Arkansas, Not Keeping Up With National Trend

cancerThe Department of Health and Human Services says In Arkansas for 2003, there were fewer cancer deaths compared to 2002 but the numbers went up in 2004. The cause is not known. From 2002 to 2003, the number of Arkansans who died from cancer dropped, by 158. Unfortunately, that number grew, in 2004. 198 more people died of cancer. DHHS says its working to bring down the number of Arkansans dying from cancer through awareness, early detection and treatment.
