Arkansas Students Safe after Shots Fired outside Alabama Space Center

Arkansas students are reported safe after gunshots were fired outside an Alabama space center where they are attending a camp.

Little Rock school teacher Laurie Yarbrough tells KARK 4 that groups from Carver Magnet Elementary are fine.  The group from Des Arc school is okay too. They are attending Space Camp at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville.

Center officials confirmed that three shots were fired into its Davidson Center for Space Exploration this morning around 10 o'clock.

The building houses the Saturn V rocket project.

Police say the shots appeared to have come from a location along I-565

No one was injured and the scene is secure.

Huntsville Police are investigating the incident.
