breaking news
Science gives a little girl the ears she was born without.
My grandson was also born with bilaterial microtia (both ears), with no other physical symptoms. His sister 7 years older had microtia (1 ear) as well. I attatch his hearing aide to his ball caps. He is now 4 years old, and a patient of Dr. Keys at ARC in Little Rock. He is adorable, active, smart and creative (he started drawing at 2 yr old). He talks when he wants to.
His sister (now 11) had the outter ear formed by Dr. Key, but, not the bone opened. She had already adjusted to life with hearing on one side. Her vocal talents are amazing. She sings with the gospel band FORGIVEN. I am happy that there are options out there for children born different. We teach them, "It is not a disability, it is an inconvenience."
Are there family groups out there to share experiences with?
