Garland County Officials Unraveling Voter Mistake

By:
Updated: April 25, 2012
Human error apparently led to hundreds of Garland County voters being assigned to the wrong voting district.

Garland County Clerk Sarah Smith tells KARK human error is why many voters received assignments to the incorrect voting districts.

Smith says most of the voters affected live in the Hot Springs Village area, and that it was a phone call from a citizen that led to discovery of the mistake.

New voter cards are being mailed daily as the rolls are corrected Smith says.

The process is expected to be completed next week.
