Updated: January 7, 2009
The state Board of Education has narrowed its list of candidates to three, as it looks for a new person to head the state "Division of Public School Accountability." The position is a new one, created by the Legislature to help keep track of how well Arkansas schools are educating students. The board has interviewed three candidates -- all from central Arkansas, with a background in education. Theyre Oliver Dillingham of North Little Rock, Michael Rowland of Maumelle, and Charles Watson of Maumelle. The new director should be chosen by the middle of this month.
