Disney Honors Fordyce Teacher

Pamela Caldwell Vaughan, a high school biology and physical sciences teacher from Fordyce, has been honored by The Walt Disney Company. Vaughan was among 39 teachers Disney officials chose to honor out of a field of 150,000 nominees. The 39 were chosen by a national committee of educators for their creativity and inspirational teaching practices. Vaughan has received national attention for incorporating NASAs space program in her classroom. Recipients of the 2004 DisneyHand Teacher Awards during the weekend received $10,000 each. Each school is to receive $5,000.
