Lawyers for the Lake View School District are asking the state Supreme Court to issue a contempt citation to the attorney generals office. Lake View attorney Bill Lewellen claims in court papers that Attorney General Mike Beebes office prevented him from interviewing a witness. Beebes office said it had innocent contact with Robert Shaver, a retired director of finance for the Department of Education. Shaver didnt show yesterday for a deposition with Lewellen. Shaver later gave Lewellen a note stating that he could not testify for the school district. Lewellen says Beebes office had improper contact with Shaver.
