The North Little Rock School Board is
interviewing candidates for its superintendent job.
It began the process yesterday by interviewing its own assistant
superintendent for desegregation, Bobby Acklin.
Acklin has held that post since 1994 and was assistant
superintendent for student affairs for five years before that. The
district must replace Superintendent James Smith, who is leaving at
the end of June.
The North Little Rock board will interview Paragould
Superintendent Tom Kimbrell on Thursday.
