Special Educationm Session is Official

Late this afternoon the Governor issued the official proclamation, calling for a special session to deal with an unconstitutional public school system. The order came down after a long day of stumping for Governor Huckabee. He started the day answering questions about education on the radio, ecouraging callers to phone legislators and tell them they dont want money poured into an old system. He moved on to a meeting with nearly one thousand business leaders from the region. There he stressed that the states poor economic state cant be separated from the poor state of education. Arkansas is under a supreme court mandate to have a plan to equalize public school offerings by January first.
