Administrators at U-C-A say theyre always willing to use school money to back good students. Theyre just changing how they do that. Over the last few years kids who scored a 23 on the A-C-T automatically earned a 500 dollar a year award from the school. President Lu Hardin now says some of that money will be used to make sure the best and brightest stay in Arkansas and consider U-C-A. Kids who earn a 25 or higher on the test will get their tuition and all fees paid for. The school will also re-allocate past scholarship money for 2-year transfers. Hardin says 2-year grads have proven they are committed to staying in college and deserve to be aggressively pursued.
