Arkansas College Enrollment Up

Arkansas has more than 120-thousand students at its public colleges and universities, a record enrollment this fall. The state Higher Education Department says the 120-thousand-497 students is an increase of six-thousand-497 from last fall. Since fall 1998, enrollment has grown by 18-thousand-455 students. Linda Beene, the department director, said the figures were encouraging. She said they indicate an increasing appreciation among parents and students for a college education.
