A new single stream recycling program kicks off Monday in Little Rock, North Little Rock and Sherwood.

The new recycling carts (see larger photo below) have been delivered in recent weeks but don't get picked up until next week. Some of them won't see their first pickup until the week of April 9.

Single stream recycling means you don't have to separate any of your recyclable items from each other. All items will go into your cart: paper, plastic, aluminum, and glass.

Every eligible home should have already received a new sixty-four (64)-gallon Waste Management recycling cart like the one pictured.

Some new items have been added to the recycling program and some are different. Click here for more information.

Once the program starts, participants will get reward points based on how much their street recycles. The points can be redeemed at Recyclebank.com for coupons, gifts and discounts.

John Roberts, executive director of the Pulaski County Regional Recycling District, will be on KARK 4 Today at 6:10 Monday morning to talk about the program's kickoff.

I do not like the $3 per month charge on our utility bill for recycling.
