Attorneys for the Pulaski County Special School District are discussing how to respond to a motion filed by Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel seeking an end to desegregation payments.

McDaniel's office filed a motion in federal court Monday to be released from a 1989 order forcing the state to pay millions in desegregation funds to PCSSD, North Little Rock and Little Rock school districts.

PCSSD spokesperson Deb Rouche says the district agrees the funds should be cut at some point, just not all at once. District attorneys continue working on an official response to the motion.
