Senator Barbara Mikulski of Maryland will be recognized on the Senate Floor today as the longest-serving woman in the history of the U.S. Congress.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid will lead off the moment of recognition with remarks on Mikulski's history in the senate.
Mikulski, a democrat, has been in Congress since 1977. She won her Senate seat in 1986.
National "Kick Butts Day"
Today is "Kick Butts Day", a nationwide campaign meant to encourage tobacco-free kids.
The campaign boasts hundreds of events nationwide designed to raise awareness about the dangers of smoking and to discourage children and teenagers from starting.
This year marks the 17th annual "Kick Butts Day".
Aspirin: The Wonder Drug?
There's new evidence a drug might help treat cancer and it costs just pennies a pill.
A collection of data from the U.K. shows a daily aspirin may help prevent and even treat a variety of cancers.
It's too early to recommend a daily aspirin a day to prevent cancer.
So for now, experts say the best cancer and heart disease prevention strategies are exercise and healthy eating.
