Hundreds of fans who camped out in front of the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles were rewarded with tickets to "The Hunger Games."

The first chapter of the big-screen adaptation of the young-adult book series premiered in L.A. overnight.

Ticket websites indicate anticipation for "The Hunger Games" film matches and may even surpass that for the "Twilight" movies.

The movie opens nationwide next Friday.
