Thousands of runners are taking over downtown Little Rock for the tenth annual Little Rock Marathon is taking place this weekend.

Organizers are expecting 11,000 people in all of the races. It's the largest turnout in the history of the marathon. Friday people filled the Health and Fitness Expo to pick up their race registration packets and shop for the right gear to give them a boost on race day.

Out of town runners shared why they keep coming back to Little Rock.

Runner Ced Busch from South Carolina said, "It's a really pretty city, nice to run through you get a lot of history going  through the capitol, Central High School, it's a great marathon."

Organizers estimate the marathon brings in about $4.3 million.
