Razorback Golfers Tied for 14th at UHH Intercollegiate

WAIKOLOA, Hawai?i ? Arkansas battled tough conditions during the second round of the University of Hawai?i at Hilo Intercollegiate on Thursday at the 6,777-yard Waikoloa Village Golf Course. The Razorbacks finished the round in a tie for 14th place after a 14-over-par round of 298. UA is tied with Fresno State with a two-day total of 582. The Hogs shot even-par 284 in Wednesday?s opening round. No. 3 Georgia Tech leads the event at 547 (-21) with No. 2 Oklahoma State in second place with a two-round total of 561 (-7). Southern California is in third place at 565 (-3) with Hawai?i and Washington in a fourth place tie at 572 (+4). Junior Matt Bortis continues to lead the way for the Razorbacks after firing a 1-over-par 72 on Thursday. He is tied for 10th place heading in Friday?s final round. Bortis shot a 68 in the first round. Beau Glover continued his solid play in the second round with a 4-over-par 75. Glover is tied for 39th with a two-day total of 145. He fired an opening round 70 on Wednesday. Freshman Jordan Payne shot his second straight 2-over-par 73 on Thursday. The West Memphis native is tied for 43rd position at 146 (+4). Eric Shriver and Scotty Campbell both shot 7-over par 78s in the second round. Shriver is in a tie for 83rd at 151 (+9) and Campbell is tied for 99th at 156 (+14). Georgia Tech?s Cameron Tringale leads the event after a 4-under-par 67 on Thursday. He was in second place (132) entering the day after a 65 in the opening round. Oklahoma State?s top-ranked Pablo Martin, who led after round one, shot a 1-under-par 70 on Thursday and is two shots back of Tringale (134). The final round of the UHH Intercollegiate will tee off at 11 a.m. (7 a.m. in Hawai?i) on Friday. Fin.
