Updated: November 10, 2006
Georgia Southern head coach Brian Van Gorder said Thursday that Alex Mortensen has left the team to consider a return to Arkansas. Alex`s father Chris said the family had "no comment" at this time. Van Gorder said that Mortensen is such a loyal person that he was struggling with thoughts of finishing what he started at Arkansas. Mortensen is very popular among Razorback players and has fielded several phone calls encouraging him to return. We expect to know much more in 24 hours. Before Mortensen`s departure Arkansas offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn said he had a good conversations with all the quarterbacks and was looking forward to working with them.
