The man who created "The Simpsons" now has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Matt Groening was honored in Los Angeles Tuesday. The 500th episode of the Simpsons is set to air later this week.

Groening was joined by fellow cast members Yeardley Smith, the voice of Lisa Simpson, and Hank Azaria, the voice of Moe.

He recently donated $500,000 to the UCLA School of Theater Film and Television to establish an endowment for professionals to teach classes in animation.
