Hogs Practice with Increased Intensity

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Razorbacks practiced outside in full pads on Tuesday afternoon for almost two hours. With the absence of daylight the final 30 minutes of practice were held in the Willard and Pat Walker Pavilion. The Hogs are returning from on an off week, but have continued to give full effort and intensity in practice. "We had a good workday and the guys came to work with their hard hats on," Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. "They really gave it to us and thats how you prepare. We have to have another one just like that tomorrow." Arkansas (2-5, 0-4 SEC) is preparing to face a South Carolina (5-3, 3-3 SEC) team that is coming off a road victory at Tennessee, extending its Southeastern Conference winning streak to three straight. "Were facing a team that has a lot of confidence right now," Nutt said. "Theyre playing at a high level. All you have to do is watch that Tennessee film and you see that." After being named the starting quarterback freshman Casey Dick was given about 90 percent of the snaps on Tuesday. Nutt has been pleased with his development and expects him to keep learning more as the week progresses. "He had a good day," Nutt said. "We put a couple things on him and he is figuring them out on the run and hell be better tomorrow. This was really his first full practice where he got 90 percent of the reps, so hell be a little sore today. The one thing he has done is he has carried himself in a good manner and his instincts have been really good. We just want him to keep doing that." The Gamecocks and Razorbacks will face each other on Nov. 5 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. with Jefferson-Pilot televising the game.
