Powerball Jackpot Climbs Again to $325-Million for Saturday Draw

The  Powerball jackpot has been updated to $325-million for Saturday night's drawing.

Arkansas Scholarship Lottery officials say sales in the Natural State are brisk, and scholarships are growing.

In the three weeks since the $2 Powerball ticket went on sale across America, the "Bigger Better More" jackpot promises have now come true. The $325-million figure would be a 29-year payout of more than $10-million a year, or the lump sum of $202.9-million.

The $325-million jackpot will be the largest Powerball prize seen here since Arkansas Powerball sales began October 31, 2009. [If there's no Grand Prize winner Saturday night, the estimate for Wednesday's drawing on February 15 is  $415-million.]

On Wednesday alone, Arkansas sales of Powerball tickets topped $562,000, with gross state Powerball sales since the January 15 beginning of the new ticket topping $4.1 Million. This means Powerball ticket sales add up to more than $1 Million in scholarships in just over three weeks.

Powerball tickets are $2, and adding the $1 Power Play doubles, triples, or even quadruples lower prizes. For example, if you win $1 Million with Power Play added, you get $2 Million.
