A popular TLC show called 'Virgin Diaries' is stirring the debate about virgins and the decision by some to remain pure until marriage.

For many people that decision is made because of religious reasons.

According to a report by the Centers for Disease Control there are about 1.1 million virgins in the country. We sat down with three of them who all say they're waiting for their wedding days to have sex and it's all because their faith matters.

One is 24-year-old photojournalist Josh Morgan who works here at KARK. He says, 'Biblically what I believe is it is an awareness, a celebration and a cultivation of who we are sexually and it is the culmination of that that we give to somebody that we realize that I can spend the rest of my life with.'

Jessie Berry, 17, is also waiting. 'I want to save my first kiss for my wedding day that's something that's very important to me." She adds, "it's one of those things it's part of what I believe in to not worry about doing stuff like that before I'm married."

Elizabeth Meeks is 26, she is also waiting for her wedding day. She says she knows her remaining a virgin has everything to do with God's grace. "I'm a virgin because I believe that in order to have the best life possible to glorify God is to team up with him and do life the way that he wants me to do life."

Some in the group say they've been tempted to give it up but their vow to maintain chaste is stronger.

Meeks says,"if it weren't for grace I would not have waited. It's all about grace and his love for me." Berry adds, "I've got time to be a kid and that's what I am interested in."

Morgan also says, "I am waiting for my wife."

I asked the two older people if it mattered to them if the person they married was a virgin and they said what matters most to them is marrying a believer.
